Charity Reg No. 1158409
Patron: Lord Bill McKenzie
The concept of the Trust was formed during a meeting in October 2003 between four Rotarians, one from each of the four Rotary Clubs in Luton: Bronwen Philpott (Luton Someries); Roger Munday (Luton North); Barrie Blewitt (Luton Chiltern); Bob Firbank (Luton).
The 'Rotary Youth Trust for Luton' was set up by deed in February 2004 with the objects of:
"The provision of the financial assistance and other such charitable support as the trustees shall from time to time think fit for the benefit of young people between the ages of 14 and 22 living, working or attending an educational establishment in the Borough of Luton"
The initial trust funds were raised from various events organised by the four founding Rotary Clubs both as individual clubs and as joint events. The Trustees would especially like to acknowledge the significant donation given by the Steel Charitable Trust.
The Rotary Youth Trust for Luton continues to rely upon public donation and the support of the four local Rotary Clubs for the provision of funds and its future growth.
